What is the football registration cost?
The Early registration for the 2009 season pay &25.00 deposit at our Superbowl Saturday sign up reserving your spot for this season.
When is the money due?
All players have the option to pay a $25.00 deposit in January with the balance being due in June at your equipment handout.
Do I need a physical for my son/daughter?
No physical is required, however there is a short medical release on the registration form that must be filled out. Also, for all new players we will need (2) copies of their birth certificate at the time of registration.
Will I have to do any fundraising?
There is one mandatory fundraiser, in the past years every registered participant is required to sell a minimum of $75.00 in raffle tickets. This fundraiser begins in June and concludes the beginning of August. Optional fundraising will be distributed at other times during the season.
When is registration?
Registration for all new players is normally held on the Saturday before the Superbowl. Flyers with the exact date, time and location are distributed through the various school districts subject to their approval. Players already in our program have the option of registering for the upcoming season in December at our awards ceremony.
What do I get for my money?
Your registration cost covers the following: helmet, shoulder pads, rib protector, practice pants and pads, game pants, game jersey and mouth piece. All these listed are on loan and are due back at the end of the season. Players are also issued an additional game jersey which is theirs to keep at the end of the season.
What additional equipment must I purchase?
Football cleats, athletic supporter, and practice jersey.
When does football begin and end?
The season starts the end of July/beginning of August and runs through the end of October. Playoff games begin immediately following and can go through the 2nd week in November.
When does practice begin?
Practices begin the end of July/beginning of August, Monday through Friday until Labor Day from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. All practices are held at Madison Meadows Park in Lombard.
After Labor Day, practices reduce to (3) nights per week. Exact nights may vary.
When do games begin?
The games start the 2nd week in August. The full game schedule is normally not available until mid to late August.
How many games do they play and where?
We play approximately 8 to 10 games. Approximately half of the games played are at our home football field at Madison Meadows Park in Lombard, the remaining games are played at various different locations. (see conference teams)
How long are the games?
A game normally last about 1 ½ hours. Teams normally arrive to the game field about 1 hour prior to game time.
Who are the coaches?
All of our coaches are normally dads that volunteer their time for this league. However, if you know someone who loves football but yet does not have a child in our league, please feel free to have them contact us. All of our coaches are NYSCA certified.
How can I volunteer to be a coach?
You can contact us at secretary@lombardfalcons.info and someone will contact you to set up an interview. We try to have all coaches selected by the beginning of March of the upcoming season.
Can we select a specific team and or coach?
No, players are placed on a team by their age and then weight. If a player makes both their age and weight, he/she must play at that level. Teams at each weight class are then drafted within the first 2 weeks of practice time. Players are drafted by their ability to play at a particular level.

How do I know what weight class my son/daughter will go to?
All players are weighed initially when they pick up their equipment. Parents at that time are made aware of any child who may need to move up to a higher weight class.Players are also weighed each week starting with the first regular season game. Players are allowed additional weight per level for their equipment and also may add (1) pound per week for growth.
Can my child still play at his/her age level if they are
more than the specified weight? Yes. As of 2009 new Striper rule allows players 10% over the specified maximum weight. Reference rules at www.bgyfl.org
Will my son/daughter receive a trophy?
At the end of the season all participants will receive a trophy.

What does the registration cost cover?
Each girl will receive a shell and skirt that need to be returned at the end of the season in order to receive their trophy. Nike shoes, cheer socks, brief and bodysuit are theirs to keep. Gym fees are also included.

Each family is required to help out during the season. Usually one person from each family will be assigned a concession stand or spirit shop time. This is normally scheduled just prior to or just after your child's scheduled game. Time required is about 1 1/2 hours. We could always use addition volunteers to help in other areas as well.

If the squad decides to participate in additional competitions or their football team makes it into the playoffs, they may be required to participate into mid-November. Practices run Monday - Friday approximately 5:30 - 7:30, depending on each head coach. Once school begins, practice is held generally Tuesday, Thursday and Friday all at Madison Meadows. As competition nears, coaches may move their practices into a school gym or other facility. Practice will be determined at that time based on availability.

A game normally last about 1 ½ hours. Squads are normally arrive to the game field about 1/2 hour - 1 hour prior to game time to warm up and go through the half-time routine.
How many competitions do the cheerleaders participate in?
Usually we try and encourage each squad to participate in as many competitions as they would like. Each squad is required to participate in the Bill George Competition. Each coach will determine exactly how many.

All participants are assigned by grade level to each weight class. Participants generally are assigned based on the school they attend if they are new, or return to the squad they were with the previous year. Changes to squad assignment are at the discretion of the Cheer Director and/or coach. Participants may request a particular coach at their age level. All requests will be considered based on squad availability.

At the end of the season all participants will receive a trophy once their uniform has been returned.
